This is a commercial script I wrote on spec to use as a portfolio piece. I’m hoping soon it will have a storyboard to go with it.
The idea started as just an interesting scene, totally out of context. I wasn’t even in “advertising mode”. I was writing down weird stuff that popped into my head and this happened to be one of the sequences I came up with. It was only the following day that I thought of a perfect use for it.

The Innovator - Sample PageThe Innovator is a short screenplay I wrote a couple of years ago that is currently in the running for The Canadian Short Screenplay Competition, which is hosted by Year Of The Skunk, a Canadian production company.
The top three entries will be produced and circulated among various film festivals. The short list will be published in mid-February, so I’ll be following up on this post to let you know whether my script made it.
It’s a comedy - a very dry comedy, I might add, and only about 10 minutes long. I like to say it’s what might happen if Monty Python’s Flying Circus and The Kids in the Hall had a secret love child.

Throughout history, those deserving of honour have been given beautiful gifts. This spring, we continue that tradition by honouring you with gifts that are pieces of history themselves.
The Spring 2005 National Incentive Awards have, at their heart, the deepest sense of tradition and value. Each piece of jewellery in the feature collection has, as its centrepiece, a genuine Roman coin dating as early as 300 A.D. Every one of these priceless rings, bracelets, pendants and earrings contains a unique coin and is a one of a kind, wearable piece of history.
Jib Media produced a catalogue for Weekenders, which included a unique offering of authentic Roman coins made into jewelry.

Fortunes Fine Jewellers
In the fall of 2004 Jib Media contracted me to write web site copy for one of their clients, Fortunes Fine Jewellers.
The focus was to be on their custom, one of a kind designs, and the credentials of their lead artist.
